Frequently Asked Questions

Common questions about Braide.

What is Braide?

Braide is a desktop application for managing and interacting with AI agents through the Agent Client Protocol (ACP). It provides a visual interface for running sessions, managing projects, and monitoring agent activity.

What agents can I connect?

Braide works with any agent that implements the Agent Client Protocol. This includes Claude Code and other ACP-compatible agents. You can configure multiple agents and switch between them per session.

Do I need a GitHub account?

GitHub integration is optional but recommended. Connecting your GitHub account enables repository linking, issue tracking, and pull request management directly within the explorer.

How are sessions organized?

Sessions belong to projects. Each project maps to a repository or workspace, and sessions within a project share context and history. You can archive, branch, and revisit past sessions.

Can I customize agent behavior?

Yes. Each project supports configuration files like CLAUDE.md that let you set instructions, preferences, and constraints for agent sessions within that project.

Is my data stored locally?

Yes. All project data, session history, and configuration are stored locally on your machine. Nothing is sent to external servers beyond what the connected agent requires.

Ready to get started?
